Artist Statement:
Killian Schurmann

Born in Dublin, Killian Schurmann began his training as a scientific glass maker in Germany. For eight years he worked in a variety of glass workshops throughout Europe before completing his own glass studio in 1991 at his home outside Dublin. Over the last ten years Killian has developed a technique called thermocollage where colours are fused and layered together to create panels that change when viewed or lit from different angles. His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in the collections of the Ulster Museum, Allied Irish Bank and the U.S Embassy in Dublin.
