Nationality: British

Born in Brighton in 1961, Simon Averill moved from Sussex to Cornwall 20 years ago, where he now lives and works.

His love for the Cornish countryside is very much at the heart of everything he paints; his work evolving out of the minutiae found on his walks.

"I still think of myself as a landscape painter" he says "largely because the objects in each painting refer to a particular place"
