Andrew Gifford - French Paintings: Part 2

The exhibition in Chelsea comprises of three distinct groups of paintings: a series of summer landscapes entitled Heat Haze and a group of night paintings of a solitary chapel at night, all of which were painted around his home in South West France between May and September. They are accompanied by a powerful series of winter paintings from Montreuil, a Paris suburb, which culminated in an extraordinary nine-panel painting of one of these street views.
